幼儿是充满好奇心、有自信的探索者。作为学前华文教师, 我通过开展有趣的活动，激发幼儿的好奇心, 增强他们的自信心，使他们能更积极、更自信地使用华语。
Children are curious learners and confident explorers. As a pre-school Chinese Language teacher, I strive to plan learning activities that excite children, pique and sustain their interests, and build up their confidence in using Chinese in different contexts so as to enable them to use Chinese more frequently and confidently.
Ms Ji Hong creates a conducive classroom atmosphere for learning which puts her children at ease with her lively voice, a rich selection of teaching materials and interesting body language. She encourages the children to exercise their imaginations through open-ended questioning and skilfully incorporates their thoughts into her teaching. The teaching aids she creatively designs also provide a tactile and joyful learning experience for them while giving them opportunities for collaboration, motivating them to actively participate in her lessons.
Ms Ji models polite speech to the children through her soft and reassuring tone, which also encourages them and builds up their confidence to learn Chinese.
Her passion as a pre-school Chinese Language teacher is evident through her belief that one should be a “well-prepared Mother Tongue Language teacher”. She hopes to garner more voluntary participation from young children of different language backgrounds in learning Chinese through the use of games, music and the creative arts. In addition, it is also important to her that she partners parents to intrigue the children and to sustain their interests.
