王珮盈是万态保育集团教育部门的高级经理。她负责为家庭、教育工作者和学校团体策划以华文进行的游园活动，并且负责相关教学资源的开发。珮盈在户外教育、实践学习和教师培训方面拥有超过十年的经验。最近，她为学前华文教育工作者设计了线上专业发展培训，并在新加坡动物园主办了新系列的家庭学习工作坊。这些培训与工作坊内容都与动物相关，其重点在于如何以有趣和互动的方式引导学前儿童使用华文，乐学华文。

Profile

Ong Peiying is a Senior Manager of the Education Department at Mandai Wildlife Group. She is responsible for conceptualising Chinese programmes and resources for families, teachers, and school groups. Peiying has more than ten years of experience in outdoor education, experiential learning, and teacher engagement. Her most recent projects include designing virtual professional development workshops for Chinese preschool educators, as well as a new series of family learning workshops at the Singapore Zoo. These workshops are not only inspired by animals, but also focus on using the Chinese language in a fun and interactive way, allowing preschoolers to enjoy learning Chinese.

Synopsis

Singapore Zoo offers unique animal stories that can enhance children’s literacy skills. One story about a rescued pangolin is told through a wordless book, “Why did the pangolin cross the road?” During this sharing session, Peiying will use the wordless book to explore different storytelling methods to enrich young children’s vocabulary and stimulate their creativity. She will also share activity ideas with teachers and parents, empowering them to raise preschoolers to become imaginative storytellers.
