Fun with Word Recognition, Joy with Reading
Reading is an avenue for children to know the world and is an essential learning competence. Character recognition is the foundation to developing reading skills. With appropriate and interesting approaches to learn recognition of Chinese characters, children will be able to read independently in their early years. This will, in turn, improve their reading and other academic skills. The speaker will provide insights on how children at the lower primary level are learning to recognise characters and read independently in class using the 2015 Primary Chinese Language Curriculum. Parents will be able to learn interesting ideas to help their children reinforce learning and assist them to read independently.
