Home Based Learning: Using Metacognitive Strategies to Cultivate Learner's Self-Directed Learning Ability
As technology advances, children's learning has extended beyond the classroom and home, and moved towards online learning. As such, ensuring that children learn how to learn is of pertinent importance. With the development of metacognitive theories, metacognitive learning strategies have been proven to significantly promote children's learning.
This session will focus on exploring how teachers can implement metacognitive strategies to teach students to plan, monitor and adjust their own language learning process, thus guiding them to gradually cultivate the ability to self-direct their own learning. With the joint efforts of parents and teachers, students can learn how to learn, so that they can learn Chinese Language better and come to love the language even more.
