讲者介绍

周恩国是新加坡华文教研中心的特级教师，拥有20多年的华文阅读教学经验，并致力于推广华文阅读。在学校执教期间，他积极推广儿童版四大名著的阅读，带领老师设计适合学生的阅读棋盘游戏。他在华文教研中心为华文老师开办阅读教学课程，并参与华文分级读本的编审与推广。他录制的华文分级读本教学分享视频被用作参考材料，分发到每所新加坡小学，供老师们参考与使用。

Profile

Mr Zhou Enguo is a Master Teacher at the Singapore Centre for Chinese Language (SCCL) with over 20 years of experience in teaching Chinese. He is dedicated to promoting Chinese reading and during his teaching tenure, led a reading programme to promote the children’s versions of the Four Great Classical Novels. He also led a team of teachers in designing reading-related board games. Mr Zhou also conducted reading workshops for teachers at SCCL and is actively involved in the development and promotion of Chinese graded readers. His instructional videos on Chinese graded readers have been distributed to every primary school in Singapore.

Synopsis

Graded readers are books classified according to a child's age and reading ability. Teachers and parents can develop children's reading ability, thinking skills, emotional attitudes, and values by using graded readers. In this sharing session, Mr Zhou will provide suggestions and techniques for teachers and parents to make the best use of graded readers. This will include:

• how to use graded readers to design diverse reading activities;

• how to use graded readers to promote children's independent reading;

• how to use graded readers for high-quality parent-child reading; and

• an introduction to graded readers and how to choose suitable graded readers.
